Julie Thompson-Dobkin, D.O.

Senior Fellow in Education

Julie is Southern California based.  Her background in education extends as a clinical assistant professor who trained medical students and neurology residents.  After leaving academia, she continued mentoring medical and high school students who were interested in the neurosciences.  Her interest in the neurobiology of creativity led her to found the Hidden Truths Project, which seeks to utilize art as an educational tool in socially challenging situations.  Her current research proposal deals with societal perception of art.

Dr. Thompson-Dobkin continues her work in clinical neurology for the indigent population at Share Our Selves Medical Clinic.  She has become a leading supporter of epilepsy research and the use of art as an educational tool.
